A perfect evaluation of “That Kiss”

I tripped over this guy when I was looking for RSS-PHP scripts.
On one level, cool! But think about it for a second. It’s nothing new, they are just ripping off t.A.T.u.’s notoriority, itself an excellent marketing ploy. t.A.T.u were widely panned – but at least they being original! Madonna is already the queen of reinvention, of course, and evidently Britney and Christina have decided they need to revive their long and distinguished, but now stalled, careers, with some staged, scripted tillilation. Come on girls, there’s enough ‘glamour’ stars out there, how about doing something original, like putting out decent music? There is hope for mankind after all.

I Have a Dream

There were many tributes to Martin Luther King yesterday, on the 40th anniversary of his most famous and most resounding piece of oratory. Many good things were said, and many good (and not so good) people made what they thought were necessary comments regarding the progress we’ve made in those forty years – or lack thereof. But I thought RealClearPolitics did the best job, by merely posting the speech and letting it speak for itself. Are we finally living in a nation where our children “will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character”?
It’s amazing how, after so long a journey, we’ve still managed to stay outside the range of that target, circling its periphery. This is a direct result of King’s assasination, which may have actually made the problem worse than it was the day he died – but in a much more sinister fashion.
