‘DeepThroat’ On Larry King Show on Tuesday, Pushing New Book
Mark Felt, the nonagenarian former FBI agent, said to be the source made famous by Woodward and Bernstein as Deep Throat, is doing a television interview, with Larry King asking the questions? I can’t wait to hear what Laura has to say about this meeting.
Ingraham has targeted Larry King in the past for his lack of connection to reality, and now King is going to interview a diagnosed dementia patient about events which took place some thirty years ago? This is too good to be true.
I have one question, how can I record Laura’s response? I need to hear her every sardonic word, over, and over again. I am expecting a major belly laugh over this one, too rich.
Of course, dementia patients, (my Mother is one), tend to have better long term recall than is their short term recall. My Mother, for example, recognizes that I am her son, but she can not recall my name, and she has no idea what she did yesterday, or even ten minutes before. But she does remember some people, places and events from long ago; she just can’t expound on them as to details such as name or time. She seems to re-experience them as feelings she had about them. But, to people who have not known her when she could relate how those things were important in her life her scattered message is meaningless (I know when she talks of wanting to go back “out there” she is referring to the cabin in the Colorado Rockies, for example, but who else would get her meaning?). So, what exactly could Larry King expect from this choice interview? Who knows, he is obviously past ready for his own rocking chair, maybe he thinks Felt is fine? Perhaps he will consider Felt’s comments to be insightful and profound. You know, deep.
Who knows what he expects? I expect to be amused.
Update: They call the show, Larry King Live, but I saw an outtake on television this morning, more than twelve hours before the interview will air? So, is the show “Live”? I guess it depends on the definition of “is”.
Update: I am disappointed. The interview was to air last night, I presume it did though I did not look for it, and during the portion of Laura I was able to hear today, not one word about the show.

It appears that the Clintons learned only one thing from Hillary’s cattle futures scandal, they can get rich being crooks. Now, Billy Boy is getting paid big for nothing, no big surprise. And the company paying him is not doing the kind of work expected of them, no big surprise there either.
Further:
The American Thinker notes that the New York Times got scammed on the Burkle/Clinton connection coverage. The AT’s source is found here, a piece by Mickey Kaus.
Fact checking, apparently, is no longer a skill needed by the lamestream media. Failure to even look for the truth, yet another symptom presenting in those afflicted with Bush Derangement Syndrome.

Separation of Church and Strafe? Part Deux

It was nearly two years ago when I presented SoCaP Part I. And I thought the issue had been settled, until, first I heard Rush limbaugh mention it today, and now I see Ace is referencing it as news. But, there is nothing about it on Rush’s website, the search engines reveal no new stories, and the story which Ace links is old. So, what is the deal? Has this matter resurfaced? I don’t know.
But, I do know that my feelings haven’t changed, I still say use ‘em if you got ‘em.
Btw- In researching this matter I discovered that Aaron, of the late blog “Aaron’s Rantblog” is back; now found at Aaron’s cc:. And he is as militantly anti-Islamofacist as ever. Check out his line of merchandise. Are you brave enough to wear a “I Draw Mohammad Cartoons” ball cap, or a “Muck Fuslims” t-shirt? Me either, though I could be convinced to wear the hat under certain conditions. (Cue the Brad Paisley song, “Alcohol”).
Welcome back to the blogoshphere Aaron.
To isfullofcrap for letting us know that you have returned.

Easter Viewing

I woke early this morning and decided to put The Passion of the Christ in the DVD. I see something new in it each time. This time I noticed Jesus stomping on the snake, and the children morphing into gremlins as they tormented Judas; both are things I should have caught before, but did not expect this time. But mostly I noticed the language, its sound, its construct, and, surprisingly, how many words sounded familiar. I do not speak Aramaic, Latin or Hebrew; by the way.
But, what has most impressed me about that film is how it stands above the other movies which depict the Crucifixion. None of the others, including the one which played on the History channel today, relate the suffering the way Mel Gibson portrayed it in his movie. After watching Caviezel as Christ, beaten, whipped, scourged, and his unbending drive to accomplish his purpose, the others look like actors slumping backwards and trying to recall a tooth ache. Their pain does not look real anymore, because we have been shown the truth of the brutality of man toward his fellow man.
Jesus died for our sins, and he suffered in accomplishing that end. And I, for one, will always measure his passion, his gift, against the portrait Mr. Gibson has produced.

Perhaps it is the Day, or perhaps I have just become so enured to this kind of thing, but I seem to feel not so much disgust for the actions of Ms. Jacobsen and her ilk as I do pity. I think of people like this much like I do the thief on the left (appropriate location, no?), condemning the actions of others so as to justify their own wrong doings. I feel pity for them because they are not just on the wrong of this issue but, just like the thief on the left, I already know where they are headed. The good news is, like the thief on the right (another appropriate location), no matter how bad their crimes, there is still a chance for redemption! I just hope they find that out for themselves in time.

This headline is outrageous!
Courtesy of Richard Miniter and the The New York Sun: Republicans Plan Race-Based Campaign Against Black Candidate in Maryland
How can this sort of thing happen in 2006? How can a political party in this country actively campaign to keep an African-American candidate from getting elected – primarily because of his race – and actually hope to get away with it?
Republicans plan a race-based campaign against a candidate who aims to be Maryland’s first black man elected to the U. S. Senate, according to a confidential Republican Party campaign document…
I know this site is called The Black Republican, but there is no way anyone from this site can countenance blatant racism, and campaigning against an African-American candidate just because of his skin color is just that – BLATANT RACISM!!!
What I want to know why this issue has not received more press and airtime with the MSM media outlets! Where is Katie Couric? Where is the press conference with Jessie Jackson, Harry Belefonte and Danny Glover? Why aren’t they screaming at the top of their lungs? Where is the Reverend Al?? Where are the Hollywood elite? How can they be so irresponsible? Why haven’t they condemned this action and…… what?
You mean… I got the headline and the article wrong?
It’s not the Republicans… but the Democrats who are planing this race-based campaign?
Oh… well… that explains it.
Never mind.

Perhaps the Islamic version won’t be the only fascism we’re forced to eradicate in this war.
Ollanta Humala, a former military officer and fierce nationalist, received the most votes in the presidential election on Sunday, edging out a pro-globalization candidate, a former president and 17 other candidates by pledging to guide Peru away from Washington-backed market reforms….While these elections could be harbingers of rough water ahead for the neocon philosophy that “freedom is a yearning placed in the heart of every human being,” I’m left wondering about the hit on the reputations of America’s most beloved Democrats, FDR and Truman. Apparently, they didn’t quite finish the job eradicating fascism after all, did they?“If Mr. Humala triumphs in a second round, Peru would join a continentwide political shift in which populist candidates have won office by proposing a break with the economic policies long advocated by the United States in Latin America. Mr. Humala, whose first name means the “warrior who sees all,” has openly expressed his admiration for Venezuela’s populist president, Hugo Chavez, who in turn has praised Mr. Humala….
“His father founded an ultranationalist movement, etnocacerismo, that celebrates the superiority of the Indian race over those Peruvians descended from the Spanish. His mother has called for gays to be shot and a brother, Antauro, led a rebellion against the government last year….
And just as an aside…. Yet again we’re left wondering who the Far Left will align themselves with: the pro-capitalist pro-democracy types backed by the Chimpführer, or the guys who shoot queers.
I won’t give up a sawbuck on the President for anything less than 20-1 odds.

How many times must the Dems steal before they are forever banned? Okay, that is a bit harsh, right?
The accused in this case, Florida State Senator Gary Siplin (D-Orlando).
“This case centers on a person in a position of trust utilizing approximately three months of labor, funded with taxpayer dollars, for his personal political campaign — not for the job a state employee was being paid to do,” Orange-Osceola State Attorney Lawson Lamar said. “That amounts to grand larceny from the people of Florida.”
Harry Reid what say you about this one?

Offer: One Statue Dedicated To Liberty
Filed Under Economics, History, Liberty and Democracy, Lies, Corruption and Scandals, Politics | Leave a Comment
I recently joined the local chapter of a group called FreeCycle whose purpose is to share with other members, for free, items which are no longer needed/wanted. I have accumulated too much stuff over the years, and so, as a recovering packrat, I thought this might be an outlet where I could discard some of the unwanted things without sending them to the trash heap, or being bothered to run an ad for their sale. I thought about this group after once again hearing it mentioned, in connection to the invasion debate, that the Statue of Liberty promises that we will take the world’s poor, tired and hungry masses, (they always leave out the “yearning to be free” part which ends that sentence, nor do they mention that the prospects should check in and ask permission to enter). Of course that promise, or invitation, is not part of our laws, but rather is a concept which was gifted, or freecycled, to us by the French; and it may be time to freecycle it elsewhere. Immigrants no longer wish to join the American experience, nor do they respect the processes for their admittance which we, as owners of this country, have established for prospective members. Now they demand to be admitted, and they demand the full rights of citizenship as well; and they want our money, now, too (even the local FreeCycle chapter requires that one submit an application, and admission is contingent upon approval of the chapter’s governing agents). Perhaps it is time for another country to bear the burden until we get this situation under control, time for another nation to carry the torch of liberty for awhile. To that end I offer this hypothetical day of freecycle posting.
Day One
Offer: One statue. Previously received from another freecycler. In good condition after recent restoration. Statue is dedicated to liberty and new owner will be required to screen applicants who wish to seek permanent residence upon owner’s lands. Owner will further be required to fulfill a wide range of interpretations of the creed which is affixed to the statue, even if such interpretations have no correlation within new owner’s laws. Further owner can expect to be harrassed into compliance with interpretations even if such promises conflict with owner’s laws. Name calling, and character assasination will ensue following non-compliance with unfounded demands. If you can not pick up, we can arrange delivery. Contact via e-mail.
Wanted: changing Table & Bassinette

Re-Offer: Statue. Did I mention that it is copper clad, and thus, due to oxidation, it is a pretty shade of green? Please send E-mail.

Re-Re-Offer: Statue. Going to curb this weekend. No longer needed here, world’s people already know about this place, needs new home to broaden intended message. Last chance to take. Makes great tourist attraction. Kids love it. Really spurs the imagination and makes people feel good about themselves. Please, please, E-mail interest; soon.
Wanted: Baby Swing

“History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.” – Karl Marx
The recent protests over immigration seem to me very sad and hopelessly misguided… and further proof that we are engaged in a war with not just one front, but two. The first being the front against the Islamo-fasists hell bent on supplanting western civilizations with 13th century caliphates, and the second front being against immigrants from third-world countries who want to fashion the culture of this country into a copy of the one they came from.
Do not get me wrong. There is absolutely no equating these two groups of people other than the fact that they both desire to achieve our level of success and prosperity. In both these cases, the people in these groups see America and western culture from the outside, like a child ogling the goodies from outside a candy store, and they have learned to hate and envy that which they either perceive or are duped into believing we are keeping from them – wealth, health, freedom from hunger, freedom from fear and worry. They desperately want freedom from all the things in their own lives which they despise and feel helpless to change. They envy us and want a piece of our pie. They want the success and prosperity like we have, and believe the only way to get it is to take it from us.
And that is precisely what is so sad and misguided. Both of these groups are attempting to achieve that success and prosperity by trying to force us - The United States of America - to bend to their will. And therein lies a great irony: should these totally different groups actually achieve the ends they are espousing, the majority of the people in either group would soon despise the very thing their hands had wrought. While no one can blame people for wanting a better life, these masses have been blinded by their passions and desire to achieve the American dream, and the possibility that they could actually achieve that dream. That blindness only makes it that much easier for them to be manipulated by their despotic leaders and charlatans who whisper in their ear that they can have all the success and prosperity we enjoy if they would just join the fight to defeat our culture and steal our prosperity pie.
The leaders of these groups would relish the defeat of America and the western culture because those few in leadership positions would be the only ones actually enjoying the spoils of such a victory – enjoying a nice meal of roasted Golden Goose, as it were. The rest of the people, the masses, the soldiers who would actually do the fighting and dying (physically, culturally, and emotionally) in such a conflict, they go to war to win the gold that goose produces, not to kill it. But what these useful idiots do not understand (but the whispering usurpers understand all too well) is that what makes America work is that it is America – the distinct American culture, American ingenuity, American productivity, American individualism, American entrepreneurism – the thousands of things that makes America what it is. What makes the American dream desirable is not that it is a dream, but that it is American.
If a caliphate could achieve what America has, it would have done so by now. And if Mexico, Guatemala, Columbia, or the Dominican Republic are so much better than America, then why come here? If, as is the case most times, they are so bad as to compel tens of thousand every year to risk everything by emigrating to America “for a better life”, then why would anyone want to bring with them the cultural mind set that created the horrible conditions that compelled them to leave in the first place? What do these people think will happen if they reshape California or Arizona into an extension of Mexico, or impose Sharia Islamic law in Michigan or Ohio? Those places will cease to be America, and cease to possess those qualities that created the desire and envy in the first place. Sort of like the kid outside the candy store burning the building down because he didn’t have enough money to buy any. He has gained nothing, and will probably just move on to the next candy store, still with no money in his pocket.
There is absolutely nothing wrong – and actually several things very right – with being proud of your heritage and ancestry, as I am proud of my Irish and German ancestry. But people should be coming to this country to get a piece of the American dream, not to bring the Mexican, Dominican, or Somalian nightmare to America. If you want a Mexico, Dominican Republic, Iraq, Libia, Sudan, or Somalia (etc.) that is prosperous and successful, then do not bring a failed method here. Live here for a while, learn our successful methods, and take them back to your homeland. Learn the recipe for the prosperity pie and make it yourself – in your own country, instead of stealing from someone else.
The majority of Americans (I cannot speak for other western cultures) understand and empathize with the desire of these peoples to achieve at least some of the success and prosperity we enjoy. After all, this country was born from such a desire. The difference lies in how we Americans choose to view the issue. Many believe that to be a thoughtful and progressive minded person they should empathize with the immigrant and the terrorist and strive to change our culture to ameliorate those groups in one way or another. Others believe it is the immigrant and the terrorist who must change. One of these methods has proven to work to increase the prosperity of these disparate groups, and the other will, I fear, prove the downfall of this country.
We call them as Islamists and Latinos, but the Romans knew them as Huns and Vandals, and when those barbarian tribes succeeded in conquering the object of their envy, all they actually achieved was the fall of a progressive and enlightened society and the start of a period in history commonly called The Dark Ages.

John Fund is feeling rather pessemistic today – and he’s got me wondering if my agrravation today is being catalyzed by his column or merely reflected in it. My prediction from last month hasn’t by a longshot been disproved yet, but establishment Republicans seem to be doing their level best to avenge their submission at the hands of Ronald Reagan upon the conservatives who brought them to the last twelve years of festivities.
A famous advocate of pork-barrel spending, Sen. (Arlen) Specter [RINO - PA] is pushing a plan to spend $7 billion above and beyond Mr. Bush’s spending requests for health and education. “The Republican Party is now principally moderate, if not liberal” on spending, Mr. Specter told reporters after a majority of GOP senators voted for his proposals last month.I’ve been saying for years that the Democrats had better be mindful of the history of the Republican Party, or they face the possibility of going the way of the Whigs for saying “Me too!” on issues like national defense and middle-class tax cuts. But an honest assessment must concede that at this moment it’s the Republicans going whiggish on issues like budget reform and immigration. I’m tempted to say that the party that’s going to win the battle of ideologies will be the one that falls apart slowest. Bush Derangement Syndrome may have taken a huge early lead, but RINOplasty is surging quickly.
