Mea Maxima Culpa (…pro puto illa populus usus ullus sane voluntas procul totus.)

You know what… I think I may have been all wrong about this Global Warming thing. I think it may really be happening! After all, what else could explain the cooler than normal waters of Eastern Atlantic, which in turn have reduced the total number of predicted Tropical storms and Hurricanes for this year? Man made Global Warming, of course! And the fact that Johannesburg had snow for the first time in 26 years and Buenos Aires for the first time in 89 years? You guessed it…man made Global Warming again.

Does anyone with a brain still doubt it? I mean hundreds of millions of expert global climate scientists – perhaps even billions – have concluded without a doubt that Global Warming is caused by evil humans… right? They have thousands of pages of facts and… lots of computer models that show… I mean, it can’t be refuted that… it’s established fact that…

LA LA LA LA LA! I can’t hear you!

Oh, and by the way, not only is Anthropologic Global Climate Change an absolute fact, but so are the Piltdown Man, Crop Circles, and Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity.

Take that you Deniers!

The self-proclaimed voice of the Democratic Party

I have agonized over whether or not to write this post, but like the brown shirts and white hoods of the past, in order to understand a thing people must be able to look at the unvarnished truth of that thing, no matter how revolting or grotesque. I agonized because, having been in the Army myself, I find it utterly disgusting that any person enjoying the freedoms and privileges of this country can actually believe, let alone publicly give voice to, this sort of anti-military, anti-American sentiment. Although I know this blog doesn’t reach very many people outside the Dextrosphere (who already know of this), and despite my personal revulsion, I felt I had to post this on the offhand chance that someone who has not seen these things can read and hear for themselves the words of those claiming to be the new voice of the Democratic Party.

Remember the words of this man human being individual the next time you hear someone on the elite liberal left say they “support the troops.”


And the truth shall set you free, A. Whitney Brown. And you shall forever be known by that truth!

I have but one response to this piece of shit, and that is to paraphrase the character Colonel Nathan Jessup from the movie (another liberal attempt demonize the military) A Few Good Men. (It still amazes me that the whiney liberal elite tool that wrote this was attempting to make the military look bad!)

Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, A. Whitney Brown? The United States Military has a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the fact that your tax money pays for our beans and bullets and you curse the Military; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know – that the War in Iraq, while tragic, probably saved lives. And the Military’s existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want the Military on that wall. You need the Military on that wall. Soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen all use words like honor, code, loyalty. They use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain any of this to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that they provide, and then questions the manner in which they provide it. I would rather you just said “Thank you”, and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think about the Military!

Since I’m quoting movies I can tell you with short quote what, if asked, 95% of Military personnel would say about you and your “opinion” of them…

I crap bigger than you!
And before you continue badmouthing them A. Witney, you should really count your blessings that those 95% are there. They’re the only thing keeping the other 5% from ripping off your head and pissing down your throat. And at the rate you are going, while they would stop it from happening if they witnessed it, it wouldn’t take much for those 95% to just turn their back.

Being an American

So this is what those on the left mean by “Separation of Church and State” – replacing the Virgin Mary with Che Guevara! Do you think Mother Sheehan would approve?

But you say this could never happen here, right? I just wonder. How many of today’s liberal left do you think would like to rename a hospital or school with a modern, liberal, secular iconic figure? I mean they would never put an ideology above a persons health or advocate replacing school curriculum with any such ideology, so why would they advocate such changes?

Oops!

Screenings of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth in schools! Makes you wonder which Holiday is celebrated more in schools these days, Earth Day or Easter. (Not that you would know it from teacher site referenced, but Easter was on April 8th this year… the day before Appomattox Day!??)

Independence Day- 100 Days, History

I want to share a story published in the July issue of Smithsonian Magazine, 100 Days That Shook The World, a tale of how we almost lost the Revolutionary War and of a seldom remembered General who tilted the balance in our favor.

“Nathanael Greene’s meteoric rise could hardly have been predicted. A Quaker whose only formal schooling had been a brief stint with an itinerant tutor, Nathanael was set to work in his teens in the family-owned sawmill and iron forge. In 1770, he took over management of the foundry. In 1774, the last year of peace, Greene, then 32, married Catherine Littlefield, a 19-year-old local beauty, and won a second term to the Rhode Island assembly.

Later that year, Greene enlisted as a private in a Rhode Island militia company. When hostilities between Britain and the Colonies broke out at Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, on April 19, 1775, Greene was suddenly elevated from the rank of private to brigadier general….”

President Bush Commutes Libby’s Jail Time

The President’s statement.

“My decision to commute his prison sentence leaves in place a harsh punishment for Mr. Libby. The reputation he gained through his years of public service and professional work in the legal community is forever damaged. His wife and young children have also suffered immensely. He will remain on probation. The significant fines imposed by the judge will remain in effect. The consequences of his felony conviction on his former life as a lawyer, public servant, and private citizen will be long-lasting.”
I applaud this decision, no spy was outed, and the Special Prosecutor knew that Libby was not the leaker when he interviewed Libby. While President Bush continues to champion Fitzgerald for his service, I will always believe that Fitz set a perjury trap for Libby. Libby is not without fault, he apparently did perjure himself. And for that he deserves a penalty; but thirty months in jail in addition to the fines, probation and humiliation he suffers is more than too much. Bravo Mr. President.

PS: It would now be appropriate for the Justice Department to go after Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame for their roles in concocting and perpetuating the real lie; Plame was not covert and could not have been outed as Wilson asserted. Plame knew this, Wilson knew this, and the political hacks in the Democratic Party knew it as well.

On Speaking Back To Terrorism

Over at the blog Gates Of Vienna there is a post answering critics who were disappointed with the blog for presenting a Danish video depicting the ritual burning of a likeness of Mohammad. Personally, I found the video refreshing, but then I have been secretly contemplating having a T-shirt made reading I draw Mohammad cartoons in my basement, even though I don’t have a basement, can’t draw, and don’t look that good in T-shirts anymore. Silliness aside, I am not Muslim and do not feel bound by the tenets of religions other than my own (if I had one), so, when I see others demonstrating their freedom from religion I want to applaud. Especially if the religion to which they are not conforming is one which insists on the conformity of all people, believers, or not; I instinctively rebel. And I am glad others feel as I do.

Baron’s post explains that many others feel the same, and he defends well his presentation of the video. He also believes the Danes are only the first voices of many that will be heard, but for now they are standing alone in a politically correct world, beckoning us to join them.

I keep returning to the Danes because they offer something to the rest of the West that nobody else can give: they are willing to stick it to the Man.

That’s why they inspire us. That’s why the Danes are leading the Counterjihad. That’s why the burning of Mohammed resonates so loudly throughout the infidel world.

Chertoff Echoes McCain

Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff appeared on Fox News Sunday this morning. Chris Wallace eventually asked about the failed immigration bill (a topic which Tim Russert did not bring up with Chertoff later on Meet The Press). Chertoff’s response illustrated that he still does not get the message. He whined about all of the things we can not do to end illegal immigration and ended by saying that it is now up to those who killed the bill to come up with a better idea, which is exactly what Senator John McCain sneered to opponents as the bill was dying the first time around.

The better idea is a simple one: enforce the existing laws!!

As enforcement first was the proponents major selling point, (remember how many times we were told that rest of the Bill would not take effect until the enforcement portions were accomplished), this concept should not be news. The fact that they seem to be unwilling to enforce the laws shows that they were lying to us all along, just as we thought.
