God Bless Ronald Wilson Reagan 1911-2004
He called America "A Shining City on a Hill." Today, one of the brightest lights of that city is no more. There is now, however, a new star blazing in the firmament above that city, and that light will never dim. May God bless and keep the soul of Ronald Wilson Reagan, the same way He blessed the United States and the world with the vision and leadership of this great man.
President Reagan was a personal hero of mine. At age 18, he was the first person I ever voted for. His belief in America's greatness and restoration of the feelings of pride and patriotism in this country were the primary reasons I joined the Army. He is why I am, and always will be, a conservative.
Ronald Wilson Reagan now belongs to the ages, but the world still belongs to us, the living. I don't think that I would be out of line to say that President Reagan would not want us to spend to much time or energy praising him, for he considered himself just a simple man doing what he thought was right.
I think, rather, that he would tell us all to concentrate on the work at hand, for our country and our freedoms are once again in jeopardy. How appropriate that tomorrow is the 60th anniversary of D-Day - for today we say goodbye to a hero, and tomorrow we get down to work... and anyone reading this knows what I mean by that. We need to work to win the election in November and keep the enemies of America from doing further harm to America. We have to win this election to preserve that "Shining City on a Hill."
Let's win this one for the Gipper!

When I was young and immature, his tagline (It's morning again in America) drove me crazy. But through life's many trials and tribulations, with the addition of common sense, I finally get it. May he rest in peace.
