A Real World Exercise

I don't make a habit of posting articles saying something is a "must-read". I figure if you're here, you probably know that I'm blogging to point out something that's pretty important to me. I've even got a whole category just for "Recommended Reading" that's posted prominently nearby. But there are times when something can't be promoted enough.

Read Debra Burlingame's excellent op-ed today in The Wall Street Journal. It's a must-read.

Excellent essay. Cockpit security, (one area she did not specifically mention) strong doors, and a policy of not opening the cockpit when passengers or crew are threatened, would have also gone a long way toward preventing 9/11. Though, the scum Islamofacists would have certainly still caused the death of all of those onboard, they would have been prevented from using the planes as weapons. I wonder if that was one of the recommendations in the 1997 report?
