Mr. Davis has some nice, heartfelt things to say about the President. Among them, at the end, is a question about whether his stubborn nature will ever allow him to admit Iraq was a mistake, based on the absence of WMD.
I won't hold his straw man against him, but the issue of WMD is murky (they're not there now, but may well have been when action started) and, in any event, the resolution authorizing war was not just for WMD. Finally, Bush, and a lot of others, including Kerry, have said they'd do it again, knowing what we now know.
Kerry changed his tune on that matter; Bush never will. Nor should he. But thanks for asking, Lanny.
Patton said, "the resolution authorizing war was not just for WMD.". But how can this be, (yes, I know it is true), I clearly heard Barbara Boxer tell Condi that is was "WMD only". If Patton is right, then either Boxer is a liar, or she never read the resolution? Or, both are true, she never read it, but knows that it authorized more than eliminating WMD.
Boxer and Kerry were the only two to not vote to support Ms Rice's nomination. So, we now know that one is a liar, unimformed or both, and the other may have voted for Condi before he voted against her.
