Those Bonnie Blues come out
That provocateur, Dean Esmay, has an interesting post about "theocracy" - or lack thereof. But it's in the comments where the joy comes out, especially when someone decides it's time to fly the Confederate flag. Shouldn't that be some sort of corollary to Godwin's Law?

Comments
Not sure I'm actually flying the Confederate flag in my post. I was simply trying to demonstrate a direct connection between some of the people advocating theocracy today and some of the people who still want to fly the damn thing.

You know, that's funny Tim. The only thing we can be definite about in this conversation is that you're definately flying a Confederate Battle Flag on your website (though a poor reproduction of one). Meanwhile, you're criticizing people who aren't... Why? Because you think they should, based on your own prejudices? Go back and read what I posted in your comments - that doesn't sound like racism to me, Tim.
What evidence do you have that makes you think they're racists? Oh, that's right, because they live in South Carolina and are trying to win elections - they must be racists. Well, you show me something more than that and I'll be the first one to go on over there and hold them to task for it. Until then, what else do you have?
...Oh, that's right, they're "theocrats", right? Do you ever read a dictionary, Tim?
Well, they can't be theocrats, because these people keep claiming they're trying to live under a Constitution. Ever hear of that, Tim? Ever read it, maybe? Have any clue what it says? Go off and study, Timmy. And come back to me when you're "sure" about something.Posted by: Chris

Touche. Your post implied that I was "flying" the flag with pride, which I'm clearly not.
As for Christian Exodus, you are, no doubt, much more tolerant than I, because I don't buy their bull about the Constitution. If you take a look at their site, I don't think you can come to any conclusion except that their aim is, in fact, a government by officials who are regarded as divinely guided. Again, I'm not implying that CE is racist - but I damn sure am implying that LOS is, and that CE claims them as fellow travelers.

I have a hard time with the label "conservative."
It's defintion: " One favoring traditional views and values," is close to the explaination that I remember hearing when I spoke to white men about the Confederate Flag.
"Ol' Dixie? It's about the 'Tradition' of the South"
Just like the Fraternity - Sigma Alpha Epsilon, that flew the Confederate flag at my Alma Mater spouting "Tradition," since their Fraternity was founded in the South.
Then the next year...A young Black woman (who now dates a white man) had a swastika taped to the roof of her car.
Tradition?
Well, I liken "tradition" to burning crosses on the front lawn.
