Bush Administration, Jesse Jackson, Mexicans Offer Inadequate Response To Fox's Racism

The reported reactions to the Vincente Fox's moronic classless dumbass remarks are full of the usual obfuscations and parsing of words we have come to expect when the walking-talking brain dead get called out.

The quote of infamy.

"There is no doubt that Mexicans, filled with dignity, willingness and ability to work, are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States." [emphasis mine- RJ]

Mexican Foreign Relations Secretary Luis Derbez said:

"I think that what we have to be very clear about is that the statement made by the president was in no way motivated by racism."

Quite true, the remarks were motivated by greed, and the desire for the money Mexican nationals carry back home from the US; but there is no doubt that while the motivation for the remark was not racism, the expression revealed Fox's racist tendencies. Obviously, Vincente Fox sees blacks as less discriminating that counterpart Americans. He, from his statement, feels that blacks are, (by nature?), appropriate for and seeking out of the least desirable work in our society. Though he makes the allowance that "even" blacks won't do some jobs; but his impoverished Mexican citizens will do the distasteful work. A slam on both American blacks and the Mexican workers.

Jesse Jackson called the remark "a spurious comparison" with "ominous racial overtones."

But Jackson stopped short of saying Fox should apologize.

"I don't know about that," he said, adding that the comment was "unwitting, unnecessary, and inappropriate.

Jackson, who said he has never met Fox, planned to call the Mexican president.

So, once again Jesse's Machiavellian nature causes him to reject his rejection of Fox's bias in favor of a politically ambiguous position which allows him to enter the fray, talk with another country's leader; and thereby he does what is best for Jesse Jackson while he demagogues the issue. He will find a way to make it appear that he intervened on the side of his constituency, and got results, while doing nothing. Same old Jesse. Heck, he might even get a check out of Fox for the favor of resurrecting the man's reputation.

Meanwhile, the US government has been unable to take on the issue directly.

A State Department spokesman who asked not to be named, read CNN a statement saying, "That level of dialogue doesn't merit comment."

The spokesman also said, "President Bush's commitment to immigration reform that is rational, legal, common sense, decent and compassionate is well-documented."

Big whoop! Could they possibly deliver a more tepid response? I suggest they put John Bolton to work as a speech writer while he awaits confirmation as UN Ambassador. At least that man says it like it is. Vincente Fox is a racist, and a man incapable of improving his own people's lot without advocating they break the laws of other nations.

Jesse Jackson did get one thing right, (without then contradicting himself) when he spoke to the immigration issue, and Fox's introduction of race into the matter.

"The comparison is diversionary from the issue of a workable immigration policy between the U.S. and Mexico."

Diversion being the word that is worth remembering from that statement. For, that is what Fox's strategy is all about. When he speaks of the jobs his people will be doing it is always with the intent to make us forget that they are breaking into our country. So, when Derbez continued with:

"They've (Mexican burglars- RJ) been able to improve the conditions of life not just for themselves but also for the communities in which they settle and, by the same token, the president made the comment in this context to say that a large quantity of the jobs taken by Mexicans are jobs that in the U.S. society aren't being filled."

He is practicing Fox's propaganda, mixing apples and oranges, when in reality immigration and the distribution of our workforce are separate issues. Immigration is immigration. Economy is economy. And all the rhetorical connections devised by man do not bring the two disciplines together as one force. It is clear that those who enter the country illegally are breaking our laws. That they only take jobs our citizens will not do is unproven, and unproveable as examples of them taking desireable jobs come into focus.

If Fox insists on combining the two; then let him chew on this comparison. He is to Mexico what Ken Lay was to Enron, both were in favor of breaking the law to accomplish their greedy goals.

Comments

You are right that Mr. Jackson didn't say much and the Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera standing behind the remarks is completely disgusting. You got a man selling God, I guess I should expect such comments coming from a man who lies to his own people about the existence of this fake white God story. Here the people are in their own country and they can't get their act together that they have to beg for jobs in another country? I mean please. Depicting illegal Mexican immigrants as hard working compared to "even" blacks is the most ignorant thing I have heard in a long time. I watched Mexicans peel corn at supermarkets and I’ve seen 4 Mexican guys per restaurant pouring water in New York City. Yes, I guess "even" blacks don't want to pour water for $2 an hour. I used to feel respect and admiration whenever I saw someone do that. Now, I certainly won’t be visiting Mexico to drop my hard earned dollars if these leaders go unchallenged with their obvious racist remarks. It is unfortunate, but Mexicans have a worse stigma than blacks. I guess their political leaders want to change it so they engineer these comments. I would at least think Mexico and American Blacks could be brothers and sisters. I guess not. Latin America is always trying to look white. Look at their TV. Where do these find these white looking Mexicans from? Seems they come from Spain, no? Hmmm. What did the Spanish do to the Mexicans. Look into history. “Even” Mexico. Look at India. They’re all doing this fair skin propaganda. People are People.

This is all nonsense just to try and make it seem that blacks are lower than Mexicans in the pecking order. Excuse me, look in the universities and look in the professional ranks around America and you will see many, many, black people all making a lot of money and making great careers.

Excuse me, but there are plenty of poor white people in America that are not making it. I for one am a black man and I have made over $200,000 a year as an IT specialist and multimedia professional. I am outraged and disgusted by these comments.

I have had nothing but admiration for Mexicans that I have met or seen working at these very low paying wage jobs, but for people to try and destroy African-American dignity with these lies, really needs to get their heads examined. I know plenty of poor whites, blacks, and other cultures living in America.

This is all the big lie. These people are doing nothing more that try to destroy the wonderful culture of Black Americans.

I am disgusted that this Fox clown would have the nerve to use this tone and vocabulary in reference to "even" blacks. I guess he thinks this is what white America thinks anyway. So why disguise it. Speak to them directly. No one will really care about his comments. America is the big lie anyway. We know what Uncle Sam is really doing, don’t we?

Let's look at the map. Africa is in the heart of the hottest and most natural-resource-deprived part of the world. These people have trouble growing grass. How do you think they got so poor? American Blacks are but a few centuries from slavery and merely 4o years from equal rights (on the surface). Look at Mexico. Where is it? Right next to the United States? Fox should be making jobs in his country. Where are all the high-tech outsourcing, like India? Get it together.

Let's get it together people. That country has a lot of natural resources and they do nothing with it but sneak over into the USA in numbers.

I had no problem with it until the PRESIDENT of this country opens his racist mouth and the CATHOLIC church officially supports his racism.

We are going to be going through some rough times in the next 5 to 10 years my brothers and sisters. Let's hope we survive this war.

Democats - Republicans - Africans - Carib - and all those traded from the US of A to the UK...

ONE LOVE.

Maxx

Wow, can you possibly get more hypocritical, Maxx?

I shouldn't allow such comments, but I've approved it this time so that we can all see what the Beast looks like when he tries to entice us to feed off ourselves. Sorry, we're not buying that here. Don't you dare come onto my site and try to breed even more of that filth in the name of your misguided righteousness. We do not persecute ANY group en masse for the sins committed by individuals, no matter how vile and contemptable their words or actions might be.

Maxx, I'll let the "white God" crap slide this time, but not the blatantly anti-Catholic remarks themselves. The next post I approve of yours is an apology to the people of the Catholic faith, or all further comments from you are deleted without appeal.

Where is the love for us in your preaching, sir? One love, indeed.

I am the beast? Hehe...

If I am the beast then I thank you for pointing it out. A Catholic or Christian or most religious people I suppose would consider me a beast since I don't believe the fairy tale.

Excuse me, but your Cardinal in Mexico City agreed with what Fox said. He is your leader, right?

Bro. Don't say I didn't warn you about the next 5 to 10 years. Get ready. They're coming for YOU.

You have got real problems if you came to the conclusion that what I said is anti-Catholic. If a man is black, brown, yellow or white, then represent him for what he was. Don't put up your own picture and expect everyone to follow you because you are so mentally destroyed by your own ego.

And this is what you follow?

Why is there a "Black" Madonna instead of just Madonna? And shouldn't it be Madonna and "White" Madonna? You have it mixed up I suppose.

Why are you a black republican? Shouldn't you just be a rebublican? I guess you don't see my point.

The Catholic Church certainly supported what Fox said, because they didn't denounce what their own Cardinal in Mexico said.

You probably want to say I am anti-Mexican because I won't be taking any more vacations there since this is obviously going to get swept under the rug.

All you care about is Democrats vs. Republicans.

I mean, brother please.

A Black Republican AND Catholic?

MY GOD! Ya got problems, man!

Tell me why Africans in the worst parts of the AIDS epidemic shouldn't use condoms?

Especially since they got AIDS from a needle and not sex with monkeys to begin with.

Wait, what am I doing?

This is the last time, last time, I google on such crappy topics as racist remarks by (get this...) ANTI-BLACKS.

Feel comfortable and snug in your surroundings, if it makes you feel better.

You certainly can go get yourself on TV and set rhe record straight, instead of criticizing Jesse Jackson. Rev. Jackson has been doing your homework for 40 years and he is a bit tired.

He has been there for you. He made your life better.

Don't forget that.

Next time you criitize people you criticize your own church, because they failed you here.

BEAST 666.

Fine, fine, fine...

I apologize to Catholics who may have been offended by what I said. I do not fault practicing Catholics for their leader’s mistakes. I know quite a few Catholics and they are very good people. I guess it would be like faulting Republicans for George Bush. Well, that is a bad example, eh?

That wasn’t my point to insult Catholics. But maybe in 50 or 100 years you will be able to represent Jesus as he existed instead of what you want him to look like.

Also, your leaders are misleading you. But I guess it is hard to find a leader that doesn’t. That is another point.

So take no offense at what I said. It wasn’t meant to offend you.
I didn’t even realize you were Catholic until I read your site.

So what do you think about this Cardinal in Mexico City supporting Fox?!?

What excuse do you think we should use for his comments?

Fine, be Republican if you want to, but certainly what does it mean to be Black?
Aren’t you just an American? Why do you let people give you a title for the color of your skin?

“The black guy over there.” “There was this black guy”. Etc etc etc.

So, Have a nice day. 

Again, I apologize. It is embarrassing for a Cardinal of the the Catholic Church to support Fox and in such a rude way.

What say you?

Ignore what I wrote bro. I was just mad.
The Cardinal shouldn't be supporting stuff like that. He should have just kept quiet. By saying something he supported.

My apologies. I had no idea you were Catholic.

My apologies if I offended you or caused you a bad evening. That certainly wasn't my intention. Sometimes you get mad reading all this stuff.

Lot's of people are wrong and they are just evil plain and simple.

Just watch out for yourself. Racism is going to be getting worse, I am afraid. There is a plan that is being carried out. Be careful of who you support and make sure they support YOU.

PEACE.

Maxx

Why is there a "Black" Madonna instead of just Madonna? And shouldn't it be Madonna and "White" Madonna? You have it mixed up I suppose.

No, I don't.

"I am black, but lovely" - Song of Songs, 1:5

Why are you a black republican? Shouldn't you just be a rebublican? I guess you don't see my point.

Perhaps I see yours, and you don't see mine.

Well, I take it you accepted my apology. Hopefully, so.

LIke I saíd, I was mad. Just checking back to see your response and now I see you're not even black. Oops! And, yes after reading some of your site, I do see your points.

You can see how mad I might have been over something like this. I was mad by these comments from Fox and those from the Cardinal in Mexico City and I just responded as I was navigating around´on your site by chance. Certainly I was mad about something else that didn't help.

So, take care Chris, and keep up the good work...

ciao...

Maxx, could you provide a link to the info on the Cardinal? I would like to get the 411 on what he actually said.

Oh, and thanks for taking the time to read what I had to say on this subject. Fox needs to have the light of day shined upon his ignorance, the more who know about his words the better, eh?

Sure, at the bottom of the page has a small quote from the Cardinal:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/americas/05/16/fox.comments.ap/

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2005-05-16-fox-comment_x.htm

Even Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, the archbishop of Mexico City, defended Fox's comments, saying: "The declaration had nothing to do with racism. It is a reality in the United States that anyone can prove."

It is a part of the Associated Press article it seems. Yes, I appreciate that it was posted.

Regards,

Maxx

Here's another link mentioning activities in Mexico... It is from CBS. But certainly it is quoting only a couple of people. Quoted nonetheless.

http://news4colorado.com/nationworld/topstories_story_136142334.html

Reading stuff like this you can see why I won't be vacationing in Mexico. It certainly doesn't alter my opinion of Mexican people. I treat every person as a unique individual. Or at least I try to.

We're also talking about illegal jobs here (to qualify what I am talking about) and the very low paying kind.

The Italian EU president during his time in charge, one or two years back made rude comments about Germans in general visiting his country. The first thing the German President did was cancel his vacation to Italy. The Italian President made these remarks to show support for the US during the time of the war of words after Germany decided to stay out of Iraq. These comments are politically motivated and are no different than Gollum sprinkling crumbs on Sam's jacket.

I find them almost comical....

While Mexico has a few, isolated black communities, the population is dominated by descendants of the country's Spanish colonizers and its native Indians. Comments that would generally be considered openly racist in the United States generate little attention here.

One afternoon television program regularly features a comedian in blackface chasing actresses in skimpy outfits, while an advertisement for a small, chocolate pastry called the "negrito" — the little black man — shows a white boy sprouting an afro as he eats the sweet. Many people hand out nicknames based on skin color.

Victor Hugo Flores, a 30-year-old bond salesman, cringed when asked what he thought of Fox's comment, but said it isn't too different from popular sayings celebrating what Mexicans see as a strong work ethic among blacks.

"It was bad, but it really isn't racist," he said. "Maybe the president shouldn't have said it. But here we say things like, 'He works like a black person,' and it's normal."

Well, I take it you accepted my apology.

Indeed I did. In turn, I'll apologize if my vehemence caused any offense, but I'm thankful you seem to understand why I believed a little forcefulness was warranted.

(For the record, I had to adjust the format and coding in your latest comments so they wouldn't cause issues with the layout of the site. If I didn't block the quotes properly, please just let me know.)

Hi,

No offense taken at all.
Your response allowed me to reflect on what I said.

Regards,

Maxx

Hey well just let me say US was made by mostly racist leaders. fox can voice his oppinion the way he wants. i know there is racist out there. but we all need to try to get along. i know things can be misinterpreted but we cant go on fighting. things might be said and people might not like it. but lets move on. lets be strong. and by the way there are to many blacks trying to be white. look at the hair. only whites and hispanics have hair that moves around. blacks try to have that. and blacks do not talk proper they have to try to.

Tina, please re-phrase this comment so that it reflects proper English. You have failed to communicate within the rules of the written language.

Be strong. Be who you are. And please move on to a place where you can learn to avoid using, and thinking in, ignorant stereotypes.

God bless your pointed little head.
