Sean Penn's rescue bid sinks
What do you get when you combine a loopy liberal activist, his entourage (including a personal photographer to capture all the compassion of his brave benefactor), a leaky boat, and a red plastic cup?
You get a great big shining example of why actors should try as hard as they can to stay in their insulated world of make-believe and away from real life situations.
Asked what he had hoped to achieve in the waterlogged city, the actor replied: "Whatever I can do to help."
It appears that he has just added one boat to the list of items that needs to be salvaged.
Gee, thanks Sean!
Hat tip to Sue, who is enjoying this episode far too much!
Update: Not that the story isn't funny on it's own, but the photo is just priceless!

I gotta do something with that photo. Thanks.
By the way, I've taken the liberty of adding you to La Famiglia Goomba. I've enjoyed my visits to your blog.

I'd like to see Sean Penn go back to assaulting paparazzi. It gets him arrested, and it gets their asses kicked. In short, it's a win-win situation.

You just gotta love a guy who goes by "Nickie Goomba". Welcome aboard!
And to that last commenter: I really don't like anonymous posts. If you're too much a wuss to provide your name, at least have the wit to make up a pseudonym, like Nickie. That said, I like the comment, so I approved it. Come back and give us more laughs, but please have a name next time.

I like the symbolism of Penn making the problem worse, he is putting water into a flooded area. One might presume that the water is being replaced after it leaked into his craft; but can we be certain that he didn't bring it with him, and purposely freed it to exacerbate the flooding? It looks awfully clean too, is a there an empty bottle of Perrier (sp?) onboard?
