I think it important to highlight a larger section of the end of that Address:

It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought (here) have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain.
By a vote of 403-3 last night, the United States House of Representatives declared that the dead lost in Iraq will NOT have died in vain. And it is despicable that any member of that great institution should be more concerned with asking our troops to save themselves by retreat and surrender than ensuring that they - who have all volunteered to sacrifice themselves, if need be - be given our full support to finish their duty of protecting the rest of America.
