An Emily Latilla Moment

This headline is outrageous!

Courtesy of Richard Miniter and the The New York Sun: Republicans Plan Race-Based Campaign Against Black Candidate in Maryland

How can this sort of thing happen in 2006? How can a political party in this country actively campaign to keep an African-American candidate from getting elected - primarily because of his race - and actually hope to get away with it?

Republicans plan a race-based campaign against a candidate who aims to be Maryland's first black man elected to the U. S. Senate, according to a confidential Republican Party campaign document...

I know this site is called The Black Republican, but there is no way anyone from this site can countenance blatant racism, and campaigning against an African-American candidate just because of his skin color is just that - BLATANT RACISM!!!

What I want to know why this issue has not received more press and airtime with the MSM media outlets! Where is Katie Couric? Where is the press conference with Jessie Jackson, Harry Belefonte and Danny Glover? Why aren't they screaming at the top of their lungs? Where is the Reverend Al?? Where are the Hollywood elite? How can they be so irresponsible? Why haven't they condemned this action and...... what?

You mean... I got the headline and the article wrong?

It's not the Republicans... but the Democrats who are planing this race-based campaign?

Oh... well... that explains it.

Never mind.
