A Prayer For Timmy

I just heard from one of my clients, her nephew was struck by a motorcycle this morning as he boarded the school bus. The motorcycle "came out of nowhere" collided with Timmy killing the motorcycle driver and causing extreme damage to the boy, D. says. (The Orlando Sentinel says Timmy was on his bike when the accident occured).

D. says Timmy lost his spleen, has so many breaks I lost track of all that she listed, and most seriously he has swelling on the brain which is life threatening.

D. is one of the nicest people you could ever meet, I also know her brother, Timmy's father, a great guy too. I pray to God that he lets Timmy heal, none of these people deserve this.

The story in the next day's paper with more details about the victims.

Updates are now in the "Extended Reading section Latest Update 6/2

I will post updates as I get them. Please continue praying, I thank you for your help.

Update 5/12 8:45Am- Timmy made it through the night.D. is sure it is because of all the people pulling for him. The doctors think it must be that the "whole family has hard heads", as D. tells it. Timmy is in an induced coma. The swelling on his brain has reduced and the doctors believe he suffered no brain damage. The main concern now is the amount of blood he continues to lose from his bleeding spleen. They have not operated yet, D. doesn't understand why. She says the doctors think it is a miracle that he survived the crash without head injuries, reports from the scene say that the motorcylist's body wrapped around Timmy's and may have cushioned his impact with the road. The motorcycle was traveling at an estimated 85 mph, the man who died was wearing a helmet, Timmy was not wearing head gear.

Please keep praying for Timmy.

Update 5/15- Timmy continues to improve. He opened his eyes this morning when his Dad arrived. And, his spleen began to work again, though it was bleeding agin yesterday. Things are really looking better, the family is very hopeful now. Thanks to all who are helping.

Update 5/16- They operated on his broken legs today. I have received a picture of him in his hospital bed, but I will have to get permission before I share it. He is pretty beat up, but the picture is not gruesome, looks of tubes, some scrapes visible, he looks restful though. And, he is holding a teddy bear in one hand. Poor little guy, a tough deal for him, obviously.

Update 5/17-Bad news. Word came yesterday that the bones in his arms were crushed by the impact, "the way an egg breaks if you squeeze it in your hands", his aunt described. It is now expected that they will have to take his arms.

Update 5/18 8:42am- Just heard from D., she says, "guess who I talked to this morning?". As she was taking her two sons to school her brother called, Timmy was awake, and he talked to the three of othem. He doesn't remember anyithing about the accident, (D. says they have him on many drugs which could be inhibiting his memory), and he is miserable, in much pain. But still it is good news that one week after the crash he is awake and talking.

Update6/2- Most recent word is that Timmy is recovering at "a phenominal rate". They have beenputting him in a whirlpool already, (his legs were not placed in casts, the pins and screws are holding his broken bones together). D has not been back up to Orlando, and says her brother has been a little tight lipped about some things, such as the pronosis on Timmy's arms, but at this point he still has them. Her overall assessment is that "every report is positive". She thanks everyone for caring, and I am sure that she will keep me informed as she gets word. And, of course, I will pass it on here. As always, thanks to all who are concerned about Timmy, God bless you too.

In my thoughts.

I also will be praying hard for Timmy's full recovery; and the acceptance of the Lord's will.

That's such good news- re:the update. His spleen is working again- what a miracle. I pray it keeps working and he keeps improving.

How's Timmy doing???

Last I heard he was in physical therapy, in a pool, which seemed to happen sooner than I expected. That was at the end of last week. I'll ask for an update.
