I still have mixed feelings over the whole Imus ordeal. Part of me believes he's getting what he deserves and the other part of me thinks its really that big of a deal. If you haven't seen it already, you should check out this story over at Highbrid Nation. The guy who wrote it worked at WFAN with Imus and gives some interesting insight into whether the man is really a racist or not. You all should check it out if you get a chance.
That article at HybridNation is more than a little suspicious. The guy says he knows Imus is a vile racist, but then says he's "unapproachable" and that he's never actually talked to the guy. His body of evidence that Imus is so racist is that he makes rude comments during the show - something the rest of us knew decades before this guy even started working in the same building as Imus. Sounds like the guy is so hard up for 15 minutes of fame, he's willing to settle for 30 seconds by approaching that blog and telling them he works for WFAN.
As the guy finally admits to in the end, it's not Imus that's the problem, it's the culture that enables him.
