Vermin!
This is why we cannot put the Democrat foxes in charge of the United States hen house!
The nonbinding, largely symbolic resolution passed the House Foreign Affairs Committee last week, despite strong opposition from the White House. It infuriated NATO ally Turkey, which hinted it might halt logistic support to U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan if the bill passes.
Largely symbolic? TOTALLY symbolic, and would result in delays getting our troops the Beans, Bullets, and Blankets they need to continue winning this war. And if the Turks really decided to flex their political muscles and prevent all transit across their territory (which they, as a sovereign nation, have every right to do), then the flights taking our wounded soldiers to advanced medical treatment centers at US bases in Germany and England will need to take a less direct route, resulting in longer flights and possibly higher mortality rates.
So, in what kind of world do we live in where the Speaker of the US House of Representitives pushes symbolic legislation that would alienate one of our most vital war allies and could potentially end up costing hundreds of millions $ more to get our troops the food and equipment they need and maybe even the lives of some of our wounded? Unfortunately, in a world where symbolism is more important than substance and, to the Liberal Socialists currently in positions of power, a world where the ends justify the means. It is painfully clear that in this case (as in most with these Stalinists), the aquisition of more power is worth any price.
Think I'm wrong? Think I'm over the top calling these people Stalinists and Liberal Socialists? Well try this new pants-suit on for size...
"Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Sen. Hillary Clinton said last week, according to the Associated Press. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
Looks like a familiar uniform, doesn't it?
We cannot let these jackals have the keys to the kingdom, or like the foxes in the hen house, they will gorge themselves on those they are supposed to protect.

You didn't say what the resolution condemned. It condemns the Armenian Genocide. My family member left America in 1890 and remained there in Turkey during the Armenian pogroms. The main two being in 1896 and 1915, when over 1.5 million lost their lives, including my family member. We try every couple of years to get this one through. We believe that history ignored will be history repeated. The Holocaust happened because the Armenian Genocide was not recognized or punished. Hitler used the plans for the Armenian Genocide to kill the Jews and millions of others too. It is intimately connected. It is bad timing to pass it through because we are at war, but Turkey deserves this. Make no mistake. They are only helping us because they want money and they feel like they can erase their bloody past without paying for it. No can do for me. The EU won't let them join until they recognize it also. Please research and add context to your post. Thank you.

How arrogant of you to think we don't know any of this, Melissa. And how vain and selfish of you to think your vengeance should prevail over the best interests of American foreign policy. I weigh the lives of Americans currently in harms way, and the lives of those they protect by their service, against the potential good of such a statement and I am left with one unassailable conclusion: the victims of Armenian Genocide are still dead afterwards, and we threaten to send innocent Americans to join them by stirring this pot now. Your family is being used as a pawn in the chess game of political power, and you are either too stupid or blind with your own bias to see the irrationality of it.

I'd like to add that passing such a condemnation in 1938 would not have deterred Hitler, and in the end would have done nothing for living Jews, nevermind dead Armenians. But a bullet in Hitler's head would have done wonders for hundreds of millions of people from Moscow to Manchester to Metuchen.
So Mellisa, rather than supporting pointless posturing, how do you stand on the subject of disposing of the Iranian mullahs and their hostage-taking stooge of a President? Should we continue to listen to Nancy Pelosi, whining and crying about our "saber-rattling" against them? Or does your compassion only extend to meaningless gestures, and not to actually taking action to stop murderous dictators?
For that matter, why pass anything like this at all against Turkey? If there's anyone in Turkey akin to Hitler, shouldn't we go after them too? If there's anyone still alive to blame for these atrocities, why not put them against a wall and be done with it? Why all the posturing with condemnations that aren't even fit for the bathroom visits of the Turkish parliamentarians?
